Our Cinderella Coach is the most glamorous carriage in our fleet. It was designed and built for Fancy Ferriage in Southern California, inspired by the carriage in the timeless classic movie that drove a common girl to a magnificent ball where she met her Prince. Hopefully riding in our carriage will make you feel like a Princess on your special day.
Our Vis a vis carriage was also specially made for Fancy Ferriage. The term comes from the French vis-à-vis, meaning face to face. Vis a vis carriages were frequently used in the early 1800's by the wealthy and royal class. They are the most common carriages used by carriage services in large cities.
Our Caisson was designed and built primarily for funerals. It is equipped with Teflon glides for ease of loading and has bier pins to hold the casket security in place. The US military uses caissons to carry our veterans to their final resting place.
Our Brewster Bronson carriage is a replica of a type of carriage used in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s throughout the United States. I was used for outings like people used their station wagons in the 50’s and 60’s. In fact, if you look closely, you will see where Ford got the inspiration for its famous “Woody”.
Our Covered Wagon is a wagonette like the Hotel Surrey, but fitted with a canvass top. It also seats up to 10 people and is used primarily for parades and western themed events.
Our Studebaker “Izzer” Surrey is a genuine antique, dating back to the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. In its day, Studebaker was one of the largest and best known makers of carriages, wagons and farm equipment. Although discovered in a barn in Wisconsin, it has been fully restored to operational status. Because of its age, we do not typically use it to transport passengers long distances. Instead we use it primarily as an accent piece for events or photo shoots for engagements, graduations, baby bump photos, etc.
Our Durant Dort is also an antique, dating back to the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. It has been carefully restored to museum quality. Durant-Dort Carriage Company, was said to have been the country's largest volume manufacturer of horse-drawn vehicles by 1900. Durant ultimately stopped building carriages and became the automobile company now known as General Motors. Again, because of its age, we do not typically use it to transport passengers long distances. Instead we use it primarily as an accent piece for events or photo shoots for engagements, graduations, baby bump photos, etc.
Our Hitch Wagon is also an antique. According to the stamp on its metal fifth wheel, it was built on June 6, 1905. Just think, while they were still having gunfights on the streets of Tombstone, Deadwood and Dodge City, someone was driving this wagon. Hitch wagons were used as freight wagons throughout the west and in large cities. The most commonly known hitch wagon is seen by millions every year, pulled by the famous Budweiser Clydesdales. We reserve the use of the hitch wagon for parades or very special western themed events.
